Kepler Microorganism Report

Kepler Microorganism Report

Q 1. List the basic characteristics of members of the Domain Bacteria and Domain Archae. Point out any similarities and differences. 2. List the basic characteristics of members of the Domain Eukarya, the Kingdom Protista and the Kingdom Fungi. Point out any similarities and differences between them and members of the Domain Bacteria. 3. What is convergent evolution? Provide an example of this process on Earth. How did the adaptations of each of the species you describe help them to adapt to their environments? 4. Suppose that you scooped up a sample from a pond containing water and microorganisms on Kepler, hypothesize what three of those organisms might be like. Include information on how the organisms would feed themselves, where they might live in the pond i.e. shallow/deep, shore/edge, and at least two structures that they might have that would help them to survive. Those structures may or may not be similar to ones found in microorganisms on Earth. It is up to you.
